“Do the best you can until you know better.

Then, when you know better, do better.”

My Story

I care about achieving strong outcomes and how those outcomes are achieved. That means making thoughtful, considered decisions, acting with integrity, and aiming for progress that stands up over time. I’m driven by the belief that people and organisations are capable of more than they often realise, and I find it hard to ignore that gap.

A lot of my work has come from trying to understand how systems work – business, society, leadership – and how decisions shape outcomes over the long term. Business, to me, is one of the most powerful of those systems, which is why I’ve chosen to focus my time there.

My perspective on accountable business comes from working across the broad business and society ecosystem over the past 25 years – either in an executive leadership role working closely with CEOs, as a management consultant, or sitting on Boards.

I started my career wanting to help people, and chose to do it through business. Early on, working in human capital consulting, I saw both the power of organisations to drive performance and their limitations when that focus becomes too narrow.

I moved into senior roles at Comic Relief, Nesta, and Tech Nation, where I played a key role in running and scaling organisations at the intersection of business, technology, and social impact. I led strategy, operations, and organisational development – building teams, shaping culture, and putting in place the systems needed to deliver both impact and financial sustainability. In particular, my time at Nesta and Tech Nation shaped my understanding of technology not just as an economic driver, but as a force reshaping society, markets, and the role organisations play within them.

Alongside this, I’ve held board roles including Chair of Missing People and Non-Executive Director at ParalympicsGB. These experiences have given me a clear view of leadership from both sides of the table – executive and non-executive – and how decisions are shaped, challenged, and ultimately made.

In the past few years, I’ve lived and worked in Washington DC with my diplomat husband and two children. As a family we’ve explored much of the US – seeking out places, people, and perspectives that broaden how we see the world.

I’ve been advising senior leaders in the US on purpose-led business, while developing a broader perspective on how business operates within a shifting political, societal, and economic landscape. I’ve also written a book on accountable leadership, Accountability Under Fire: How society is demanding more from business and what really great leaders are doing about it. That experience has been a defining part of my thinking and I’ve recently launched a podcast – Seat for Society – to continue the discussion, this time across the business, non-profit and Government sectors.

Across all of this, a consistent pattern has emerged: leadership is the critical factor in how organisations perform and the role they play in the world.

Which brings me to now…

Modern leadership is evolving fast.

I help visionary leaders create the conditions for strong organisational performance – through how they lead, make big decisions, and shape culture. Because performance is not just what an organisation delivers, but how it behaves and the impact it has.
