Seat for Society Podcast

Seat for Society: Leadership when the stakes are high and consequences human.

Seat for Society grew from a shared curiosity between my co-host, Katie Buchanan, and me about how leaders make decisions when the consequences extend far beyond their organisations. Every day, choices made in boardrooms, government offices, and non-profits shape people’s lives, communities, and the wider economy—yet we rarely hear honest conversations about how those decisions are made when the pressure is high and the answers are unclear.

Through thoughtful conversations with leaders from business, government, and civil society, the podcast explores how people weigh trade-offs, exercise judgment, and live with responsibility when expectations collide.

For listeners, it offers a rare look behind major decisions. Guests reflect on the frameworks, pressures, and mistakes that shape their choices, helping leaders think more clearly about accountability, make better decisions under pressure, and recognise that uncertainty is a normal part of leadership today.

The relationship between business and society is changing

Leaders who understand this shift will be better equipped to build trusted organisations that perform, endure and contribute positively to the world around them.

If these are questions you are exploring in your organisation, I would be glad to connect.
